An overland adventure from Cairo to Luxor taking you through the stunning White Desert, the oasi of Farafra & Dakhla on to Kharga visiting Balat and Temple of Beshendi which dated to the Pharonic Era.
Tour itinerary
Day 01 : Cairo to Baharrya
Meet Safari Guide and start the 365km drive, early morning, from Cairo to Baharrya. On arrival to the Oasis of Baharrya enjoy lunch then on to visit the English Army Castle, the famous Baharrya Mountains, Eldess and Maghrafa, the Hot Spring of El Ghaba and sand dunes in Baharrya Oasis. Dinner and overnight camping.
Day 02 : White Desert
After breakfast, visit the Valley of Mummies which dates back to the Roman Era & excavated in 1997. Then continue driving to the White Desert road which is 120km from the Oasis of Baharrya. During the drive there is a chance to make photo stops in the Black Desert, the Rose Desert and in a nice place called Ell Aqabat where stone collectors can find various colored stones. Drive to the Crystal Mountain before reaching the White Desert where you can take stunning pictures of the sunset view and natural limestone formations. Dinner and overnight camping.
Day 03 : Farafra & Dakhla
Today we drive on for 340km to reach the Dakhla Oasis passing by another small oasis called Farafra. Enroute also visit the old Temple of Deir El Haggar and the old tombs of El Mozawakka both dated to the Greco-Roman Era. You can also visit the old city of El Qaser which dated to the Islamic Era. Set up camp in a sand dunes area.
Day 04 : Kharga
After breakfast there is the opportunity to make a camel trip trough the sand dunes to see the sunrise, ending this trip beside a nice water spring called the Magic Spring. Afterwards we then drive to the Oasis of Kharga, the largest. Approx driving distance is 200km. Enroute visit old tomb of Balat and Temple of Beshendi which dated to the Pharonic Era.
Day 05 : Oasis of Baris
Breakfast then on to visit the old Coptic Tombs of El Bagawat, the Temple of Hibis, ruins of El Nadoura Temple and the old city of Kharga, along with a carpet & dates factory. Then continue driving to the small Oasis of Baris enroute visiting the Temples of El Gowita and Kasr El Zayatt both dated to the Pharonic era. Dinner and overnight.
Day 06 : Luxor
Today visit the Temple of Dush and then the old village of Egyptian architect Hassan Fathi who built the chapel style. Afterwards continue on the 245km drive to Luxor where your safari will end. (Once in Luxor you can add on many variations such as a Nile Cruise, Diving in Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh, sightseeing in Cairo...etc).
