Overview

This travel package covers the impressive historical & cultural highlights of Istanbul & Cairo during guided day tours. Then sail down the Nile from Aswan to Luxor on a 03-night Nile Cruise exploring various highlights along the way such as the Valley of Kings, Temples of Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak and more.

• This is a flexible travel package for individuals, it is not an escorted group coach tour. You are able to choose your own travel dates & also request modifications to the duration and areas visited.

• Package Rate starts from around EURO per person: based on 02 persons sharing in a double/twin room in standard 3* hotels. Excludes international flight to Istanbul for start & from Cairo at the end. Rate varies depending on chosen travel dates & hotel category, as well as the number of persons travelling together and any changes you might wish to make to the itinerary.

DAY 01 : Arrival Istanbul

Welcome to Istanbul! A private transfer driver will be waiting to take you from the airport to the booked hotel (the transfer time is arranged according to your international flight arrival time). Overnight Istanbul.

DAY 02 : Guided Sultanahmet Walking Tour

Today explore the Classical & Ottoman highlights of the famous Sultanahmet historical area. The tour guide takes you to visit the Blue Mosque, St Sophia (Hagia Sophia), the Hippodrome & Obelisk, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace. The evening is then free at leisure, overnight Istanbul.

DAY 03 : Bosphorus & 2 Continents Tour

Enjoy a scenic cruise on the Bosphorus after which visit the Spice Bazaar, City Walls, Beylerbeyi Palace and Camlica Hill. The tour also includes a crossing over the Bosphorus Bridge which joins the Asian & European sides of Istanbul. You then have the evening free at leisure, overnight Istanbul.

DAY 04 : Flight from Istanbul to Cairo

A private transfer driver will take you from the hotel to Istanbul Airport for departure on one-way international flight to Cairo. On arrival, meet in the immigration area for assistance through then transfer to the hotel. Remainder of the afternoon and/or evening is then free at leisure, overnight Cairo.

DAY 05 : Giza Pyramids, Memphis & Saqqara

Today your local guide will take you to visit the Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, Memphis as well as the Step Pyramid of King Zoser located in Saqqara, the oldest known of Egypt's 107 Pyramids. After the tour, depart on the overnight train to Aswan (in a 02-person sleeper cabin).

*Flights from Cairo to Aswan are also available for those that do not wish to travel by overnight sleeper train - please be sure to note your preference when making your enquiry.

DAY 06 : Nile Cruise (Aswan: High Dam & Philae Temple)

Breakfast on train, arrival to Aswan and begin your 03-night on the Nile. Today the cruise tour guide will take you to visit the High Dam and Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. *Optional extra tours such as "Abu Simbel" and/or a "felucca ride" can be added.

DAY 07 : Nile Cruise (Kom Ombo & Edfu)

Cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Sobek & Haroeris. Continue sailing to Edfu and explore the Temple of Horus, the most complete preserved Temple combining Pharaonic and Greek architectures.

DAY 08 : Nile Cruise (Luxor: Valley of Kings)

On arrival to Luxor, visit the Valley of Kings & Queens (03 tombs), the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut & the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight on Nile Cruise

DAY 09 : Luxor (Karnak & Luxor Temples), return to Cairo

To complete your time on the Nile, visit the amazing Luxor & Karnak Temples. You then have some free time before transfer to the airport for the domestic flight back to Cairo.

DAY 10 : Old Cairo & Egyptian Museum Tour

On your final day in Egypt, visit the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel of Saladin and the Old Cairo area offering a mix of Islamic and Christian Monuments. No visit of Cairo would be complete without trying your haggling skills in the Khan El-Khalily Bazaar. Overnight in Cairo.

DAY 11 - Departure:

As per your international flight departure time, transfer from hotel to Cairo Airport.

I am home and even adjusted back to the time in AZ. As we reflected on this FABULOUS trip, we agreed on several things to tell you. First of all, we both LOVED Turkey and came away with really strong feelings about the 2 weeks spent there. Part of that may be because we really LOVED our PRIVATE tour with Hussein and Cemal !!!! They made those 6 days very special! But we also loved the fact that everywhere we went your country was IMMACULATE (which was not as true in Greece). The people were warm and friendly (except some rug salesman !!!). The food was DELICIOUS, the ruins were spectacular and shopping was wonderful. We enjoyed our visit to all of the Greek isles, but in hindsight we might want to do that differently. Instead of cruise we might prefer taking the FAST ferry to Myknos, Santorini, and Rhodes and spending 2 (or even 3) nights on each of those islands. We were glad that I had indicated our desire to spend more time on Mykonos and you accomodated that. We really enjoyed the 2 days there!!! We really wished we could have spent more time on Santorini - and knew why many people got off the ship there and stayed a few days! Our overall feelings about Greece were not as strong as those for Turkey. We are not sure if that is because we did Turkey FIRST and loved the PRIVATE tour so much or we would have felt this way even if Greece had been our first country! I live in a community where lots of retirees travel a great deal. I hope when they hear me rave about Turkey and YOU that I will be able to recommend you to more customers!!!!
